More Information About Diaper Cakes
Diaper cakes are popular baby gifts made with lots of diapers to make cake-like layers. The main ingredient in these "cakes" are Pampers Swaddlers Diapers, size 1, unless otherwise specified. If it is a cake for a first or second birthday, we will use larger diapers or pull ups and possibly underwear. We like to include something tall and slender in the core to hold the layers together, such as bottles or a bottle brush. Additional cake ingredients may be receiving blankets, onesies, bibs, socks, caps, washcloths, towels, toys, stuffed animals, or anything else that should be included to complete the theme. We will review the recipient's registry requests and we try to get items that coordinate with each other colorwise. Ribbon is usually used to hold each layer together, although diaper pins are sometimes used with blankets that wrap all the way around the cake, ensuring of course, that the diaper pins don't pierce the diapers. If requested on the custom order form, a car seat or stroller mosquito net may be used to cover the cake, as is shown in the Safari cake example above.
